Why this exists

“A dead-simple Renter's Digital Vault for timestamped move-in/out proof.”

Requested in r/SomebodyMakeThis by a renter looking for one organised record instead of scattered camera-roll evidence.

Questions renters ask

What this proof does - and does not do

Does a hash prove when the photo was taken?

No. A hash detects later changes. Depositproof combines it with public calendar commitments, but your device clock and the truth of the scene remain separate questions.

Do my property photos leave this device?

No. Photos and notes stay in this browser. Only a derived Merkle commitment is submitted to public OpenTimestamps calendars; they cannot reconstruct your images from it.

Will a tribunal or landlord accept the report?

The PDF organises evidence and makes later alteration detectable. Admissibility and the weight given to it depend on the dispute and jurisdiction. This is not legal advice.
